Travel-i LE comprises of the following components:

  Speed Adviser
You are travelling along the M25, and the variable speed limits show the speed limit has been reduced to 60mph. On the Travel-i screen you touch the 60mph button. Now you can continue to drive, safe in the knowledge that should your speed go above 60mph, Travel-I will give you an audible warning.

A little further down the road the speed limit reduces to 40mph, so you merely touch the 40mph button. If your speed now goes above 40mph, Travel-i will let you know.

Further on, the speed restriction is lifted, so you press the Speed Off button. Travel-i 's Speed Advisor will be turned off.

To avoid you being continually notified when your speed just nudges the limit, you can set the percentage margin, before the audible alarm alerts you, in a configuration page.

Camera Adviser
You are travelling along the A14 between Cambridge and Huntingdon and you spot a speed camera. You glance at Travel-i and you see that it is not aware of this camera, so when you are level with the camera you log the location and the speed limit into Travel-i 's database via buttons on the screen.

A few days later you are travelling on this same piece of road. As you approach the camera, Travel-i gives you a visual indication that you are close to a camera. If your speed is above the speed limit, Travel-i will let you know using an audible alarm of your choosing.

When logging a camera location, you may choose not to record a speed. In this case, whatever speed you approach the camera you will get an audible alarm. You can silence the audible alarm by pressing the mute button, or you can put up with the alarm, which will automatically silence once you have passed the camera.

There may be situations where a previously logged camera is no longer there. To avoid being continually alerted when approaching that location, you can press the Delete button to remove the location from Travel-i' 's database.

General
Unlike some other devices on the market which are dedicated to alerting you when you approach a Speed Camera, you are not wholly dependent on End2End for the data. With Travel-i you can build up your own database of Speed Camera's. You will be able to swap information with other Travel-i users and share it with us.

There will be software upgrades adding new and exciting features.

If you have a good idea for an enhancement to Travel-i let us know and we will see if we can incorporate it for you.

Travel-i is not designed to promote breaking the law. Many people are caught through a momentary lapse of concentration, quite often by a distraction, either by someone in the vehicle or for example by talking on a mobile phone. Travel-i is an innovative concept to help overcome these problems.
